The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of any object it encounters so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum in areas that you don't wish to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.

The design is also better than the competition. It features a sleek, top piece that resembles a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal It also self-empties which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place instead of scattering it on the floor. The j7+, while not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum robot sweeper from iRobot and cannot clean the stairs, is an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know if the update is actually working until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

It's a small base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. The station's most appealing factor is its ability to automate various tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.

And its vacuuming is impressive, too. It's the only robovacs that I've tried that does very well at picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great option for those looking for a vacuum robot that can do it all.

But if you want to save money, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of other options on the market, including a lot of eufy models priced considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted floors, as well as mopping capabilities for a low cost. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on and plug in the charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of room to move.

The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious in comparison to other models. It has a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral fashion over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The main feature that makes the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to create an image of the immovable items in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it started.

The eufy G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with heavy materials like cereal.
